..My Sister's Keeper..

This type of movie is really my thing nowadays. It revolves around family, love, life and humanity. I cried watching it like a baby. adehla, sungguh cengeng.


By the way, here's a brief review from me:

Mainly, it's about Kate Fitzgerald, who had been diagnosed with leukemia and bone marrow cancer since she was 5. In order to stay alive, she needs a marrow donor who is genetically matched. Unfortunately, her brother, Jesse is not.


So her parents, Sara and Brian Fitzgerald opted for the recommended-yet-no-so-legal method to have in-vitro baby - who is 'engineered' to be Kate's genetic match. So Anna Fitzgerald is born.


But when she's 11, Anna gets herself a good lawyer, Campbell Alexander to sue her parents for medical emancipation. She refuses to donate her kidney to Kate and wants the right to have control over her own body. The reason - she wants to live her entire life normally.

Eei, budak ni agak selfish di situ... Pelik betul dengan decision Anna walaupun at the same time rasa jugak kesian sebab she had undergone numerous surgeries, transfusions and shots to help Kate.

Tapi sebenarnya Anna tidaklah sekejam itu - Kate is the one who persuaded Anna to do so because she decided not to fight the cancer anymore after her boyfriend (also a cancer patient) died.

Tersentuh tengok ketabahan Sara (played by Cameron Diaz) yang sanggup buat apa saja walaupun at times she crossed the line.

The movie ending - Kate died. This is contrary to the novel version where it's Anna who died, instead of Kate. Eh, sejak bila pulak i pandai baca novel ni? Hehe. Taklah, i baca novel review saje :P

Anna won the court case. Everyone moves on after that. Sara pursuing her career as a lawyer which she quitted before to take care of Kate. Jesse got a scholarship to art school. Brian trains the city problematic youth.

Moralnya : Manusia hanya merancang, Tuhan yang menentukan.
